The beauty of Cambodia

We are on our way, conquering the green endless shop-decorated streets of Cambodia. And still try to adapt to the calm mode of everyday-life. Almost all things in Cambodia, except traffic, move slowly – but successfully. And the next shop selling water, sweets and beer is always just 2 minutes away. Saving us from a midday-bike-breakdown by getting us out of the burning sun. Or just helping us to kill some time to adjust to the local vibe and have the occassional talk about our doing. First we spend some time in the south, witnessing the explosion of chinese investment in Sihanoukville and the overhaul of a whole province, waiting for the arrival of some 2 million people. And are happy to board our tiny Van and head North to Kratie, to the Mekong. A journey that, like the whole traveling-side of things, can be described as unspectacular. On the contrary, Cambodia evokes a feel of arrival that is new to us and we find ourselves longing for the road going nowhere. And so the excitment for our next big step is rising…
